Sapientia Boutique Hotel

This is the best hotel I've stayed at in Europe for over a year. The rooms are spacious and bright. The staff is enthusiastic and friendly! We arrived that day and were given drinks to cool off for our whole family, making me feel at home. Dinner was also very delicious, and the small courtyard was beautiful and cozy. It was truly a wonderful night in Coimbra!

Absolutely loved this hotel. A mix of historic and modern design, rooms are large and comfortable. Great location, close to the University and botanical gardens. Wonderful breakfast. Joel and the restaurant staff were excellent, food was outstanding. Hotel staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant. Weather didn't permit us to use rooftop and hot tub often but thats another bonus..Would stay again

Stayed here for 2 nights during a solo Portugal trip. Incredibly nice hotel and very "Americanized" amenities. Booked a double room and my room ended up being huge with a couch, dining table, and full kitchenette. Air conditioning in the room was truly the best of my whole time in Portugal! Delicious restaurant on property too. Had a seafood soup there that was one of my favorite meals of the whole trip.

This was the most beautiful hotel I’ve stayed at in Europe so far and I’ve been to a lot of places. Joel was our favorite, across the entire family including the kids. Thank you so much Joel, we loved our time with you! Most of the staff seemed pleasant enough but not terribly happy overall. The rooms however were stunning. We had two sides to our room, a bedroom and the other side with the bathroom, kitchenette, and another fold out bed. The hotel was beautiful. An outdoor space out back, a lovely breakfast, and working air conditioning. The only issue is getting to it by foot. The roads are 45 degree angles and the stairs are 10” rise high and probably 6 flights. GO AROUND and take the walk through the shopping area, to the lift and pay the €1.65 to go up, walk past the university and it’s fairly level and much less deadly. I regret we were only there for 1 night but we would come back! Coimbra was quieter compared to Lisbon and Porto, which was also relaxing.
